RECENT PROJECTS

A complete overhaul of the front, rear and side gardens for a client in Ringmer who wanted a low maintenance garden with year round interest.  This involved:

• Rear garden - clearing an established border, improving the soil with grit and compost, pruning the shrubs retained, creating a planting plan and planting out.  Below are just three pictures of different areas showing the improvements made.

• Front garden – here we removed two old and somewhat straggly honeysuckles and retained and replanted daffodil bulbs.  The planting was designed to be year-round evergreen and consisted of two Pyracantha to frame the window and a series of low-growing Pachysandra that will carpet the whole area in two or three years.  In addition, we cleared the existing beds where the property meets the pavement and turfed to adjoin the existing lawn.

• Side Garden – this was the biggest challenge!  Here we removed the remains of an old hedge, pruned and regained control of a Wisteria and Virginia Creeper, cleared 9 cubic meters of shingle, cleared the raised bed and redistributed the soil from it, rotivated the whole area in readiness for turf and 122 feet of beech hedging.

In our own garden I designed a circular path and new planting areas to replace the lawn and planted a wide range of shrubs, perennials and bulbs.
